Long before Majaty, Bamby Screen & Antrafa

In the early 1960s, long before the creation of the Majaty flooring sampling company, Bamby Screen was founded in Mouscron, Belgium.

Initially specialized in the manufacture of stickers and screen printing, the company is deverisfying and growing very quickly: folders, leaflets, printing on métal plate or PVC plate, printing on plastic hangers, advertising posters, notarial posters, …

Growing quickly to a dozen people, the factory became quickly restricted and it was in the family garden that a building was built to better serve the clients.

Floor covering sampling with 2nd generation

In the 1970s, thanks to Bamby Screen’s machine park equipped with cutting equipment, there was an opportunity to cut carpet and, among other things, to make samples.

The team is reinforced by the second generation, respectively in 1976 & 1978. In between, Antrafa was created in order to the ever-increasing demand for carpet cutting and floor covering sampling.

Quickly, Antrafa gets noticed in the field. Indeed, the investments in equipments and machines, combined with competent staff guarantee customers a high level of quality and finish MADE IN BELGIUM.

As everyone knows, the biggest enemy of screen printing is dust, that is why a second building was built to separate the two activities.

The combination of Bamby Screen and Antrafa is however perfect: one for the creation and printing of labels and supports for specialized for sampling, the other for sample cutting, gluing and finishing.

The purchase of a building to quadruple the total operating area quickly proved necessary to meet the growing demand for orders, which was done in 1980.

In order to further strengthen the team, the third and last child of the family joined the companies in 1991.

Majaty and third generation

To cope with the lack of necessary space and the ever-increasing development, the family created the Majaty company and invested in the construction of an additional building. This will double the workspace, allowing each company to evolve in its own entity and with its own staff.

In 2010, in order to continue the family’s legacy, the third generation comes in the society. The same year, every facility has been centralized in one place, in order to optimize communication between production lines and management, as well as production and distribution.

Having always its production entirely in Belgium, Majaty is probably one of the last floor covering sampling factory which do not have its production lines offshore.
